Software Engineer – Ansible in Waterford City, Ireland

The Red Hat Ansible Engineering (https://www.ansible.com/) team ( https://www.ansible.com/ ) is looking for a Software Engineer in Ireland. As a Software Engineer in the Ansible organization, you will be working across geos with technical team members to analyze, design, develop, debug, and deliver new products and feature functionality for the Ansible offerings. What you will do

• Develop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

• Develop, maintain, and improve web applications using Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)

• Work with technical leads and the business to understand feature requirements. Help break requirements down into smaller units of work.

• Contribute to all aspects of product delivery, including design/architecture, development, testing, documentation, and deployment.

What you will bring

• Software development experience using Python or Golang.

• ​​Experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)

• Passion for learning new technologies, building elegant software systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and automation.

• Knowledge of software development life cycle tools, like GitHub and Jenkins.

• Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile or scrum processes

• Strong written and spoken English skills

The following is considered a plus:

• Writing Ansible playbooks and administering the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

• Familiarity with metrics and observability platforms (such as Dynatrace, DataDog, etc) are a plus.

• Experience with other configuration management and infrastructure as code tooling such as Hashicorp Terraform

• Experience with utilizing container management platforms and development environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker/Docker Compose
