Software Engineer II

Our team in Azure GenAI is at the cutting edge of developing large language model technologies to power Azure AI Platform products and offering them as a service for both internal and external applications. We are the Azure OpenAI team, and we collaborate deeply with OpenAI and numerous Microsoft product teams, including GitHub and Office.  

 

The team is looking for a passionate, creative, and analytical individual contributor with a background in designing and scaling distributed systems with focus on safety and performance. You will work on making large language model available on scale for product-driven scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Understand state of the art LLM fine-tuning and training workflows and contribute to new features and platform enhancements in a fast-paced startup-like environment
• Apply strong engineering principles to design, implement and maintain scalable, reliable, secure and performant finetuning platforms using Microsoft Azure
• Collaborate with product groups across Microsoft and within AI platform

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• 4+ years of relevant software development experience
• Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming and proficiency in C#/Python or similar languages
• Good understanding of modern cloud native infrastructure, distributed systems and frameworks.

 

Preferred:

 

• Working knowledge of ML concepts, deep learning, LLMs
• Hands-on experience with Azure or any major cloud provider
• Experience with orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and modern devops paradigms
