Our Dartmouth, NS office is seeking a highly connected and enthusiastic Leader with extensive geotechnical materials consulting experience to build relationships internally and externally and use your expertise, client relationship, leadership and management experience to grow opportunities within our expanding team and organization.
Your Key Responsibilities

Lead the Material Testing and Inspection services team and be responsible for resource management processes, recruitment, career development, coaching and mentoring, and leadership development

Lead and coordinate business development efforts and proposals

Support laboratory operations include testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, mortar and bituminous paving mixtures

Plan and coordinate field and laboratory testing of construction materials.

Manage a variety of small to large Material Testing and Inspection projects

Prepare and review of technical reports
-
Work with other business developers, practitioners, and marketing teams within Stantec to assist in growing the Material Testing and Inspection business

Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor /teaming partners, and potential recruits

Promote compliance with our Health and Safety Policy
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
-
A self starter who enjoys working in a team environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills
-
Strong leadership and business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base . Such experience within a consulting organization is considered a strong asset

Previous success in developing teams of technologists and engineers
-
Knowledge of relevant CSA and ASTM Standards related to concrete, soils and asphalt.

The ability and willingness to travel as needed

Valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience
-
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.

Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist with a minimum of 8 years of experience in contracting/consulting.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include traversing difficult terrain and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
