Job Title: Vehicle Assembler/Fitter
Location: Chudleigh, Newton Abbot
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm
Hourly Rate: £12.00 per hourAbout the Role:Driver Hire (Torbay) is looking for skilled Vehicle Assemblers/Fitters to join our client’s team based in Newton Abbot. This is a temp-to-perm position offering a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking for a long-term role within a dynamic environment.Key Role Details:

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
• Annual Holiday Entitlement: 28 days, inclusive of public holidays. After 5 years of continuous service, entitlement increases by 1 day per year up to a maximum of 33 days.
• Pension: 5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution
• Driving Licence: Full UK/EU licence required

Daily Duties:

• Clock in and out, ensuring accurate timekeeping
• Check that job numbers and paperwork match the correct vehicle details
• Carry out vehicle modifications as per job specifications
• Complete modifications within allocated timeframes, liaising with the Manager or Leading Hand
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area
• Assist team members when needed
• Escalate any problems or issues promptly to the Manager or Leading Hand
• Focus on quality in all tasks
• Adhere to safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Skilled in using a wide range of air and hand tools
• Ability to follow a defined process without deviation
• Build and maintain all assemblies to the required quality standard
• Safely use and maintain company tools, ensuring they remain in good working condition
• Complete company documentation as needed and maintain work areas to company standards

To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Competence in working with power and air tools is essential, as is a flexible, can-do attitude. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous but is not essential.How to Apply:
