Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

As the insurance subject matter expert and a champion of client-centered comprehensive planning and advice, you provide ongoing professional wealth transfer advice on complex insurance strategies to branch teams and their high-net-worth clients. You play a pivotal role in growing the insurance business by supporting financial advisors with strategy development, opportunity analysis, and tailored training.

You take an integrated and holistic approach to planning by collaborating with other internal subject matter experts and the client’s external professional advisors (i.e. tax, legal and other advisors), and utilize all planning tools available to assist financial advisors and their clients with their complex planning needs to achieve their goals.

You are excited by the opportunity to engage financial advisors and their clients with a broad range of complex estate protection needs. You can offer strategic insurance solutions for clients in a variety of planning areas including intergenerational wealth transfer, equalization of estate interests in dynamic family and family business situations, philanthropic planning, corporate wealth transfer, and domestic tax planning.

You actively engage as a high-performance team member. You have a commitment to continuous growth, strong communication and collaboration skills. You enjoy the opportunity to coach other advisors on your team about insurance concepts and opportunity development.

This role can be fully remote, onsite, or hybrid. If an in office experience is desired, the applicant must be in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate.

Hiring Minimum: $97400

Hiring Maximum: $165800

Skills/Requirements

Required:

  • Valid provincial insurance license. A CFP designation (or willingness to obtain within twenty-four months of hire) is required. CLU designation is desirable.

  • Advanced technical knowledge of life & living benefits insurance products, concepts and regulatory issues.

  • Expert knowledge of the investment and insurance industry.

  • Strong communication, listening and presentation skills and the ability to tailor communication style to FAs, BOAs, clients, centers of influence and product partners.

Desired:

  • Professional designations such as CLU, CPA, LLP, TEP, JD considered an asset.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting

  • Estate and/or tax courses

  • Strong understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process: retirement planning, cash flow planning, investment planning, tax planning, estate planning and protection planning

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting and financial planning software tools (ie. Conquest).

  • The ability to collaborate well within a team environment.

Years of Relevant Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferred with experience working with financial advisors in a business development capacity.
