U-Report welcomes members to join our steering group, bringing a new complement of 6 members. This term of reference covers a 12-month period commencing December 2024 and lasting until December 2025. The U-Report steering group serves to advance the achievement of the goals of U-Report, which is designed to empower youth to speak out on issues that impact their lives, encourage youth-led development, and create positive change.
The steering group is to be sub-divided into five sub-groups, each representing one of five UNICEF ECARO outpost in Italy programs/main topics of interest:
- Protection
- Alternative care
- Intersectional Discrimination
- Quality Education (skills and job orientation)
- Mental health and psychosocial wellbeing
The objective of the U-Report Steering Group is to advance the goals of U-Report, particularly in empowering youth to express their opinions on issues that affect their lives, promote youth-led development, and foster positive social change.
In more specific terms, the Steering Group aims to:
- Amplify youth voices on important issues through U-Report polls and digital engagement.
- Guide the development of U-Report by providing feedback and recommendations on polls and activities.
- Support UNICEF programs on key topics such as protection, mental health, education, and discrimination.
- Engage other youth and youth-based organizations to expand participation and partnerships in U-Report activities.
- Overall, the group plays a role in shaping the platform’s activities to ensure it addresses youth priorities and fosters meaningful participation.
- Against this backdrop, UNICEF ECARO o/p in Italy intends to hire Youth Consultants U-Report Steering Group who will be responsible to manage the “Youth Leadership Network”. Also, since these consultants are expected to connect with young activists at the same level, ADAP is looking for young people possibly not older than 24 years.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Active participation in UNICEF activities
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and drive for results skills.
- Good writing skills.
- Fluency in Italian essential .
- Must own a mobile phone with reliable access to bandwidth sufficient to hold video calls.
- Must live in Italy.
- Contextual understanding of community issues specifically issues among youth with a migratory background.
